Our Team
Paul Prather
Covering Ground Farms (CGF) was founded during Paul's senior year of college, driven by a profound passion for cultivating food and love for the power of healthy soil. The idea of starting a business that nurtured the land and built community resilience resonated deeply with him. Starting as an internship growing and selling micro greens locally, the farm's vision quickly blossomed into the diverse enterprise that CGF is today. With extensive experience in agriculture since 2013, including roles as a field supervisor at La Rocca Vineyards and Sierra Cascade Blueberry Farm, Paul brings expertise in crop planning, irrigation management, and regenerative farming techniques. His commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and community engagement is evident through innovative farming methods and educational outreach. Paul oversees farm operations, ensures high-quality produce, and mentors aspiring farmers through internship programs.
Tristan Lake
Tristan merged with Covering Ground Farms in 2023, bringing with him over 9 years of experience in production farming. His expertise in farm management, crop planning and customer service play a critical role in optimizing farm operations. Tristan has worked with farm to school programs, supplying fresh produce to kids and bringing awareness in sustainable food systems and nutrition. He enjoys collecting seeds and making compost in his free time and often works barefoot.
